Hello I'm Piers...I grew up in Marlow in the UK where I spent many years predominantly skulling & rowing in quads, trained by an Olympic gold medalist. From a very young age I have always been interested in photography, partly inspired by the fact that my grandfather Graham Thompson was a Royal photographer for the British Royal Family, & my late father, Maurice Thompson was a Film Director. I love music, fitness, travel, learning languages, worldwide cuisine & going on country & coastal walks which I share too with my wife Alex.
MY STYLE
“Natural, candid, romantic and creative” is the best way to describe my art and style of photography. With a subtle and unobtrusive approach, I will weave my way through the day to create images which tell a story of your Wedding or Event. This is where my photo-journalism background comes into play. I will also use my art and creativity for those “must have” shots, all to ensure you receive a collection of precious, unique and memorable images to last a lifetime.
EXPERIENCE COUNTS
Qualifications & lots of experience, go hand in hand in my eyes. Personally, it’s been over 20 years as a photographer. Carrying a few qualifications under my belt in Professional Photography at Cambridge Art College, and in Press Photography at Sheffield University, I started covering British Royal news like the Great Windsor fire & also sports coverage for the England Rugby team, plus celebrities, footballers and politicians. For France Press in Paris, I photographed major sporting events, hard news & celebrity publicity photos. Over time my work has evolved and my speciality is the wonderful and exciting world of WEDDINGS, EVENTS – there is no turning back :).
